As we begin a new year, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all our members, partners, and friends of the British Furniture Confederation.

Building on the strong foundations established in recent years, 2026 promises to be both busy and exciting for our industry. As we refresh our ambitions and goals this January, I am pleased to welcome Adam Honeysett-Watts to the team as our Public Affairs & Communications Director in Westminster. I am also delighted to welcome Commercial Interiors UK back onto our Board, strengthening the breadth and depth of expertise around the table.

Through constructive dialogue, collaboration, and thought leadership, it remains our responsibility to champion the interests of our sector at the highest levels of government. In the year ahead, we will continue to focus on the issues that matter most to our members, including furniture fire regulations, energy tariffs, sustainability, changes to Business Property Relief, and export tax incentives, among others.

In an increasingly fast-changing world, it is more important than ever that we build trust and foster long-term, meaningful relationships to ensure our members are supported and their voices are clearly heard.

On behalf of the Board and the Secretariat, thank you for your continued support and engagement. We very much look forward to working with you all throughout the year ahead.

I wish you and your loved ones a healthy, successful, and inspiring New Year.

Tony Attard OBE
