Following the recent changes in Government, BFC Chairman Tony Attard OBE has written to the newly appointed Secretaries of State whose portfolios are closely linked to the priorities of the British Furniture Confederation (BFC).

Tony has congratulated:
• The Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP, Secretary of State for Education
• The Rt Hon Jonathan Reynolds MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science, and Trade
• The Rt Hon Dame Angela Eagle DBE MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

In his letters, Tony welcomed their appointments, outlined the importance of the furniture and beds, furnishings, and flooring (FFF) sector to the UK economy, and invited them to meet with the BFC to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the FFF industry.

He has also extended an invitation for Ministers to attend future BFC events and engage directly with businesses across the FFF sector.

Constructive dialogue with policymakers is vital to ensuring the voice of the FFF industry is heard – from skills and education, to trade and exports, plus the environment and circular economy.

Tony will also be writing to the new Minister for Employment Rights and Consumer Protection when they’re announced.

We look forward to working with Ministers and their teams in the months ahead.
