The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills has announced the results of the consultation into a proposed amendment of the Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations. BIS has listened to the concerns of the key stakeholders regarding the proposed amendment, and in particular the concerns that there was not sufficient evidence to back up the effectiveness at this point in time.

The proposed amendment will not now go ahead, but will discussed as part of a full revision of the Regulations already underway with a target date of April 2016 for completion.
